It was a beautiful day in October when these two adorable and sweet people, Erika and Alex, said “I do” at the gorgeous Wequassett Resort in Chatham. Erika looked stunning in her lace-backed gown with gold espadrilles to match. Alex rocked a relaxed vibe with his beach-chic tie and light grey suit. I spotted many guests with happy tears as these two shared their vows on the lawn overlooking the ocean. It was a stunning sight! Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails on the large deck with gorgeous sunset views or chatted amidst cozy fires in the firepits (later guests enjoyed roasting marshmallows for s’mores). I loved the classic and vintage vibe. Take a look at their amazing day! I feel very fortunate every time I get asked to second shoot for another photographer. Its such a compliment when another photographer likes your work enough to hire you; and for this wedding, it was even sweeter because that photographer happened to be the VERY talented Jessica McDaniel of Boston Baby Photos – my family’s photographer for the last several years. Jen and Matt were not only the cutest couple, but also the nicest. So polite and considerate, and beaming with love and happiness! The preparations took place at Ames Hotel followed by photos at Post Office Square. Their nuptials were held at The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and then the party followed at the iconic State Room.
I think in some ways we lost our innocence as a city this week. It’s hard to imagine that something like this could happen in our own beloved city. My daughter was passing out water to runners in Natick with family friends. I shudder to think what could have happened if she were at the finish line. I imagine, like me, you are hugging your little ones a little tighter and praying for families who suffered a different fate. In a small way I would like to help those affected by this nightmare.
This year’s Portraits in the Park will benefit all those involved in the Boston Marathon tragedy. In an effort to benefit those in need, $50 from the mini session fee will be sent in to www.onefundboston.org. The Boston One Fund was set up by Mayor Menino and Governor Duval to help those that have been affected by the bombings.
The Sessions will take place at Elm Bank in Wellesley on May 18th and 19th. The sessions are 30 minutes and cost $150 and include an 8×10 print or $350 for the session and 20 digital files. Please call 617-833-0660 to reserve your space.
It’s always fun to try something new. Samantha and Kevin wanted a vintage feel for their engagement session. So, why not go to a farm? Samantha looked amazing in her lace dress with cowboy boots and what could be better than a bow tie and suspenders for Kevin? We had them walk around the farm and maybe even hold a chicken or two. Hair and makeup by the fabulous Grace Mahoney of Blushing Brides.
